Eating out in
Sella
Ca Isa i Toni
Isa (Isabel) is a great chef and works miracles -
she does a great
home made hamburger and anything you eat here will be good. Solomillo in
pepper sauce is a favourite of mine and the Chicken in apple sauce is lovely
but order it in advance. Also to order, Isa makes a good paella. Closed
Monday evenings and Tuesdays.
Bar María
Opposite Toni´s on the main road,
this is Sella´s biggest restaurant and the best place for a paella out on
the terrace. All year round, María cooks excellent traditional food,
served by Terésa, her sister, who happens to be the Mayor´s wife. They do
excellent salads, sepia (cuttlefish), chuletas ( pork, chicken, lamb,
rabbit, chops) champiñones (mushrooms in garlic), hígado (
liver ) and so on and so on. Only for lunch, they tend to shut in the
evening
Bar Fonda
Next door to Marías, this is another "lunchtime
only" bar. They do a standard menu for about €15,00 with salad, toast and
ali-oli, tortilla, sausages, a plate of ham and cheese, then chops (chicken,
lamb, pork or rabbit) and chips with grilled green peppers, oh, and wine.
El Casino
The
restaurant / bar next to the church in the Plaza Mayor. English run since
July 2008, they do lunch and evening meal with a menu you will
recognise on their blackboard - chilli, curry, pizza etc. The tapas
are good too. Martin and Sharon run the place and are your next-door-neighbours-but-one.
Give it a try! Pool table! Closed Mondays.
Paco´s Bar
In the Plaza Mayor. Paco´s wife, Ampáro,
cooks excellent tapas - ask for merluza, croquetas,
atún, sepia,
calamares or una
ensalada - y un poco de pan!
Great! My favourite place to eat out. Closed Thursdays.
