Sella is just 15
minutes from the A7 motorway and about 55 minutes from Alicante airport.
Murcia airport (San Javier) is about 2 hours away.
Alicante Airport
Take the A7 motorway,
direction Valencia and Benidorm. There´s a lot of
new road development just finished around Alicante city - if in doubt,
follow the Valencia signs (you don´t have to turn off at all) Take the
ticket at the Toll booth and be prepared to pay €2.05 at the other end (
price May 2008.) Leave the motorway at junction 66 - La Vilajoiosa -
and when you´ve passed through the toll booth, turn right, inland,
following the signs for Orcheta and Sella. You´re about 15 minutes away.
Murcia - San Javier - airport
Head North for Alicante on the Autovia, then follow the directions above
Driving down from
Valencia
You can take the Autovia all down the coast and turn off at junction 66,
but a more interesting (and toll free!) journey is to take the inland
route to Alicante - motorway nearly all the way. Aim for Alcoi but at
Cocentaina, one hour away from Sella, turn off onto tiny rural roads and
go through Benilloba, Benasau, Alcolexa, over the Tudons Port
(1200m) and wind down the hairpins entering Sella from above. Not
recommended in the rain or snow!
In the village, download and print one
of these maps. Sella diagram
